Gharami anchors East Zone’s big total

Sudip Gharami delivered the standout batting performance in East Zone’s Duleep Trophy match against Northeast Zone, scoring 146 from 185 balls as East Zone reached 355/6 at stumps.

Gharami’s innings contained 25 fours and one six, giving East Zone a strong platform after Kumar Kushagra made 55. Shahbaz Ahmed then extended the advantage with an unbeaten 100 from 137 balls, including nine fours and two sixes.

The teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made a brief appearance, hitting two fours in a six-ball stay before being dismissed in the second over. East Zone’s experienced batters otherwise controlled the day and left Northeast Zone facing a substantial first-innings total.
