Barcelona Femeni Dominate Awards After Historic Quadruple

Barcelona Femeni were the big winners at Monday's Ballon d'Or ceremony, with Alexia Putellas claiming the Women's Ballon d'Or for 2026 following another incredible year that saw the Catalan side win the quadruple. The club's dominance was further recognised with several major team and individual honours.
Vicky Lopez picked up the Kopa Trophy for the second year running, while Pere Romeu was named Women's Coach of the Year. The team also collected the Women's Club of the Year award for the third time in four years, and goalkeeper Cata Coll scooped the Best Goalkeeper Prize.
Joan Laporta was a very proud president as he reflected on Barca's continued dominance of the women's game.
"Thank you, France Football, for awarding us this prize for best women's club of the year. It is a great honor to receive this award. I want to thank everyone who is part of Barca's history. Everyone has worked very hard to achieve success," he said.
"I'm thinking of the players and the coach, Pere Romeu. Also, our directors, Xavi Puig and Angel Ruidalbas. Thank you for your extraordinary work. I would like to thank the institutions that organize these competitions in which our players can showcase their talent: UEFA, the RFEF, and La Liga."
Laporta also addressed the club's ambitions for the upcoming season, stating: "I want to say a few words to the Barca fans, who are always by our side. This season we want to win La Liga three times in a row, we want to win the Champions League, and this season we will be contenders."
Congratulations poured in for Putellas and all at Barca Femeni following their remarkable season.
