Konstantinos Karetsas in Borussia Dortmund action

Borussia Dortmund have turned to a former Liverpool analyst in their bid to transform summer signing Konstantinos Karetsas into a €100 million asset, according to Sport Bild.

The 18-year-old Greek midfielder arrived at the Westfalenstadion from Belgian side Genk for €30 million in the summer and has already made a strong impression. The club reportedly harbour high hopes for the teenager, believing he could eventually reach a market value of €100 million and generate a significant future transfer fee.

To help Karetsas fulfil that potential and adapt to head coach Niko Kovac's style of play, former Liverpool analyst Roderick van der Ham has been assigned to work closely with him, the report adds.

One of Kovac's demands, according to Sport Bild, is for the teenager to make more runs in behind opposition defences — a tactical adjustment Van der Ham is now tasked with instilling.

"According to Sport Bild, one of Kovac's demands is for the teenager to make more runs in behind opposition defences."

Dortmund's track record in developing and selling young talent is well established. So far, the club have only received nine-figure transfer fees for two players: Ousmane Dembélé, who joined Barcelona for €148 million, and Jude Bellingham, who moved to Real Madrid for €127 million. Karetsas is now viewed as the next candidate to follow that lucrative path.
