Harmanpreet Kaur reveals 'nothing new, nothing different' mantra as India women lift Asia Cup; Shree Charani makes history
Harmanpreet's simple formula
On the eve of the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur revealed the mantra behind her team's preparation: 'Nothing new, nothing different.' She was equally grounded about her own state of mind, saying: 'I don't put any pressure on myself.'
The formula worked. India went on to beat Sri Lanka in the final and lift the Asia Cup title.
Mandhana's candid admission
Star opener Smriti Mandhana, meanwhile, offered a rare glimpse into her personality away from the field. Asked when she had last cried, Mandhana replied: 'I don't cry for my real life.'
Charani's historic milestone
There was history made away from the final as well, with spinner Shree Charani creating history in the ICC Women's T20I rankings by becoming the first Indian to cross the 800-point mark — a landmark moment for Indian women's cricket.
