Greg Chappell leads seven Australia captains in appeal over Imran Khan treatment as Michael Holding slams Pakistan

Captains unite for Imran Khan

Greg Chappell is leading seven former Australia captains in an appeal to Australia's foreign minister over 'humanitarian' concerns for Imran Khan, as unease grows around the treatment of Pakistan's former captain and former prime minister.

The unusual show of solidarity underscores how the issue has transcended cricketing rivalry, with the appeal urging action on humanitarian grounds.

Holding's blunt verdict

The criticism has not been confined to Australia. West Indies great Michael Holding delivered a blunt verdict on Pakistan over Imran Khan's treatment: 'You don't treat human beings that way.'
