Bayern hit Leipzig for five to stretch unbeaten run to 50 games
Bayern’s early goals set the tone
Bayern Munich extended their Frauen-Bundesliga unbeaten run to 50 matches with a 5–1 away win over RB Leipzig, turning the contest decisively in their favour inside the opening quarter-hour.
Momoko Tanikawa opened the scoring in the eighth minute, and Leipzig’s task became harder six minutes later when Zenia Mertens put the ball into her own net. Bayern maintained control for much of the match, finishing with 67 per cent possession and nine shots on target to Leipzig’s four.
Bühl brace leads the second-half scoring
Klara Bühl made it 3–0 in the 55th minute and added her second in the 73rd. The Germany international’s brace took her to six league goals for the season. Edna Imade, introduced as a substitute, scored Bayern’s fifth in the 85th minute.
Leipzig’s Marleen Schimmer briefly reduced the deficit in the 78th minute, but Bayern restored their four-goal advantage before the finish.

Red card creates an unusual finish
Bayern’s comfortable evening briefly took an unexpected turn when goalkeeper Ena Mahmutovic was sent off in the 75th minute for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity. With all five substitutions used, defender Vanessa Gilles had to take over in goal.
Schimmer scored three minutes after the dismissal, but Bayern recovered their composure and Imade’s late finish ensured the red card did not alter the result. The champions now turn their attention to Wednesday’s Women’s Champions League meeting with Real Madrid, while Leipzig must regroup after falling behind early against the league leaders.
