Lukas Kübler extends Freiburg stay beyond next summer

Freiburg retain long-serving full-back Kübler

SC Freiburg have confirmed that Lukas Kübler has extended his contract, ensuring the full-back will remain with the Bundesliga club beyond next summer. The club announced the renewal on social media.

The 34-year-old joined Freiburg in 2015 and has since made 247 competitive appearances. He has also already played more than 293 minutes in all competitions this season, underlining his continued role in the squad.

Hartenbach praises Kübler’s reliability

Sporting director Klemens Hartenbach said the club could “absolutely rely on Kübi” for his performances, adding that the defender brings “total passion and identification to the team every day.”

“He either plays himself or he pushes his teammates,” Hartenbach said. “We are delighted to continue our journey with a massive cornerstone of our team.”
