Luton leave Leicester in trouble with stoppage-time winner
Marshall delivers decisive blow against Leicester
Luton beat Leicester 2-1 after Callum Marshall scored in the fourth minute of added time, deepening the pressure on Foxes manager Russell Martin. Leicester had been reduced to 10 men late on, but appeared to have salvaged a point when Liam Cullen produced a fine equaliser five minutes after John Lundstram was sent off.
Luton had gone ahead in the 39th minute. Jordan Clark dispossessed Caleb Okoli and set up Nakhi Wells, who swept the ball home. Lundstram received a second yellow card with five minutes remaining for a lunging tackle on Isaiah Jones. Marshall then settled the match with his late winner.
It was Leicester’s fourth league defeat in 11 games.
Huddersfield climb to the summit
Huddersfield maintained their promotion push with a 2-1 victory over bottom club Wigan. Ilias Bronkhorst and Derensili Sanches Fernandes scored for the Terriers, with Christian Saydee replying late on. Huddersfield moved top, ahead of Stockport, who were due to play Notts County on Saturday afternoon.
