Doku commits to Manchester City with new five-year contract until 2031

Jeremy Doku has committed his long-term future to Manchester City by signing a new five-year contract, with the club confirming the Belgian winger will remain at the Etihad Stadium until June 2031.

The 24-year-old joined City in the summer of 2023 for a reported £55.5m (€65m) from Rennes, and his new deal arrives on the back of a positive 2025-26 campaign under new head coach Enzo Maresca.

Three seasons of silverware

Doku has made 131 appearances for City across three seasons under Pep Guardiola, scoring 22 goals and providing 29 assists. His trophy cabinet at the club already includes a Premier League title, an FA Cup, an EFL Cup, the Community Shield and the Club World Cup — and he is eager to add more under Maresca.

“I have loved my time at City so far, so to have the opportunity to stay for longer is a fantastic feeling,” Doku told the club website. “This club means so much to me — I have developed as both a player and a person. I feel settled here, and I know I am improving every day because of the work the staff here do.”
“It’s hard to explain just how much this club does to help players. I don’t take it for granted and it makes me better. With Enzo here now I am really excited about the new season. His style of football is the kind we love, so that’s exciting for the players.”

The winger also credited the support of the City faithful for his decision to extend his stay.

“The City fans are also a huge reason I have signed this new contract. I feel their love and support, and it means the world to me. I want to focus on bringing them the success they deserve.”

Dribbling king among City’s creators

Since making his City debut, Doku has recorded more assists than any other player at the club with 29, while only Erling Haaland (128) and Phil Foden (74) have directly contributed to more goals.

Among Premier League players, Doku has completed the most dribbles since his debut (278) and recorded the most take-on ending carries (311). His 136 created chances are also the fourth-most among Premier League forwards in that time, underlining his growing importance to the club’s attacking output.
