Kimi Antonelli needs only ninth in Mexico to seal youngest-ever F1 world title
Mercedes driver one result from the title at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez
Round 19 of the 2026 Formula 1 season heads to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez for the Mexico City Grand Prix, from 30 October to 1 November. And all eyes will be on one man: Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli.
The 20-year-old Italian sealed victory from pole position last time out in the United States, and was joined on the podium by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Red Bull's Max Verstappen. He is now 123 points clear of team-mate George Russell in the drivers' standings.
Antonelli will make history in Mexico as the youngest F1 world champion if he finishes ninth or better. If Russell or Lewis Hamilton do not win the race, Antonelli will lift the title wherever he finishes.
