Shreyas Iyer breaks into T20I top four as India claim three of the leading spots
Iyer reaches a career-best ranking
India captain Shreyas Iyer has risen three places to fourth in the latest ICC men’s T20I batting rankings, following his century in the opening match of the five-game home series against the West Indies. It was Iyer’s maiden hundred in T20 internationals.
India occupy three of the top four positions: Ishan Kishan leads the list and Abhishek Sharma is second. Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan sits third after earning a career-best rating through his performances against Sri Lanka.
Other T20I batting movers include Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis, up three places to 23rd, and West Indies’ Sherfane Rutherford, who climbed 13 spots to a joint 24th. India’s Sanju Samson advanced four places to joint 27th. Pakistan batter Maaz Sadaqat made one of the largest gains, moving from outside the top 100 to 45th after the three-match series against Sri Lanka.
Movement among T20I bowlers and all-rounders
West Indies all-rounder Roston Chase rose 24 places to 23rd in the T20I bowling rankings and moved up two positions to third among all-rounders. Pakistan’s Salman Mirza climbed nine places to 14th among bowlers, while Saim Ayub advanced eight spots to 54th.
Test rankings reflect Australia’s win over South Africa
The rankings update also reflects Australia’s 214-run victory in the first Test of the three-match series against South Africa at Kingsmead in Durban. Matthew Renshaw, named Player of the Match, scored 190 in the first innings and 82 in the second, lifting him from outside the top 100 to joint 49th in the Test batting rankings. Marnus Labuschagne moved up four places to 34th, while South Africa opener Aiden Markram gained four spots to joint 10th.
India’s Ravindra Jadeja retained a clear lead among Test all-rounders. South Africa’s Wiaan Mulder rose one place to fourth in that category, and Simon Harmer climbed five places to joint 23rd.
