India docked 20% match fee, West Indies fined 10% for slow over-rate in Mullanpur ODI
Both sides penalised after dead-rubber finale in New Chandigarh
India and West Indies have been handed fines for maintaining a slow over-rate in the third ODI of the just-concluded one-day series in Mullanpur, with the hosts docked 20 per cent of their match fee and the visitors handed a 10 per cent fine.

After time allowances were taken into consideration, West Indies were found to be two overs short having sent down their entire quota of 50 overs. India, on the other hand, were found to be four overs short after West Indies chased down a 352-run target in 48.2 overs.
Sanctions confirmed by match referee
The sanctions were levied by match referee Prakash Bhatt in accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which stipulates a five per cent fine for every over a team fails to bowl on time.
The charges were levelled by on-field umpires Jayaraman Madanagopal and Sam Nogajski, third umpire Sharfuddoula and fourth umpire Virender Sharma, and the sanctions were accepted by captains Shubman Gill and Shai Hope, ruling out the need for a formal hearing.
Repeat offence for West Indies
The penalty marks West Indies' second over-rate sanction in the format in the last three months, following a five per cent fine in the final ODI against New Zealand in July. India's previous over-rate sanction dates back to the Raipur ODI against South Africa in December 2025, where they were slapped with a 10 per cent fine.
Both teams will now turn their attention to the white-ball format, with the five-match T20I series commencing with the opener in Lucknow on Tuesday (October 6).
