Injured Pacers Hasan Mahmud and Tanzim Hasan Sidelined for Bangladesh's ODI Series Against Pakistan
Injured Pacers Hasan Mahmud and Tanzim Hasan Sided for Upcoming ODI Series
Bangladesh's national cricket team faces a setback ahead of their three-match ODI series against Pakistan, as two key pacers, Hasan Mahmud and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, have been ruled out due to injuries. Mahmud is battling tennis elbow on his right hand, while Tanzim is sidelined with a back injury.

The 15-member squad, led by captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, includes the recall of experienced all-rounder Afif Hossain and retains young batsman Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan in the middle order. Notable omissions from the previous ODI squad against West Indies in October 2025 are Quazi Nurul Hasan Sohan, Jaker Ali, and Shamim Hossain.
Selector's Insights on Squad Changes
Chairman of selectors Gazi Ashraf Hossain explained the rationale behind the adjustments, stating: "We have provided opportunities to several players in the middle order, but unfortunately some have not done enough to secure their places. With that in mind, Afif Hossain has been recalled. He brings valuable experience and is currently appears to be in fine touch. Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan has been retained and this is a good opportunity for him to fulfil the potential he has shown."
Addressing concerns over Litton Das's recent form, Hossain added: "There may be questions about Litton Das's recent ODI form, but he has been working closely with the coaches on his game. We believe he can soon produce his best in this format and are considering him as an option to strengthen the middle order."
Series Details and Full Squad
The series is scheduled to take place in Dhaka on March 11, 13, and 15. The full squad comprises: Mehidy Hasan Miraz (c), Soumya Sarkar, Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Tawhid Hridoy, Litton Kumer Das, Afif Hossain, Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan, Rishad Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana.
This series presents an opportunity for Bangladesh to test their revamped middle order and bowling attack against a formidable Pakistan side.
