Cremer returns as Zimbabwe name tri-series squad for Namibia

Veteran legspinner Graeme Cremer has returned to Zimbabwe's squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series in Namibia, marking a significant boost for the side as they prepare for a challenging assignment.

Cremer, who last featured in the Super Eights fixture against South Africa during the T20 World Cup earlier this year, has recovered from a left-arm injury that ruled him out of the home assignments against Bangladesh and India. His return adds considerable experience and wicket-taking craft to the spin department.

Uncapped Matigimu earns call-up

The 15-member squad, led by Sikandar Raza, includes uncapped fast bowler Kundai Matigimu. The 28-year-old has played just 11 T20s in his career but made his bow in the Test format for Zimbabwe last year in the one-off fixture against South Africa.

ODI and Test skipper Richard Ngarava misses out due to injury alongside Tanaka Chivanga. While Ngarava is recovering from a lower back injury, Chivanga has undergone surgery after sustaining an achilles tendon injury.

Series format and fixtures

All three teams will face each other twice in the series, with the top two reaching the final. Zimbabwe's first game is against South Africa on August 29 before they take on the hosts two days later.
