Miro Muheim’s late winner lifts HSV to a third straight victory
Muheim savours another decisive finish
Miro Muheim admitted he had not yet fully absorbed the significance of his late winner as Hamburger SV continued their recovery with a third straight victory, beating VfB Stuttgart.
“It feels incredible and I haven't quite grasped it yet,” the match-winner said after the game. Muheim added that the emotions would probably catch up with him later, describing his celebrations in front of HSV’s North Stand as “unbelievable”. He said the tension lifted when the final whistle went.

From difficult start to winning run
HSV had started the season without a point and endured two consecutive 5-0 defeats before beginning their winning streak. Muheim missed the club’s first four matches because of injury, but has since scored late goals to secure wins over Hoffenheim and Stuttgart.
“After the difficult start to the season, we stayed focused,” Muheim said. “Now the next game is coming up and we want to win that one too.”
HSV are scheduled to face newly promoted Paderborn next weekend, followed by two meetings with Eintracht Frankfurt in the cup and Bundesliga.
The Swiss international helped his country reach the World Cup quarter-final in the summer. The Stuttgart strike was his second Bundesliga goal, both coming at crucial moments for Hamburg.
