Injured Nahid Rana out of Zimbabwe T20I decider, racing against time for Australia Tests

Nahid Rana's Injury Puts Australia Tests in Doubt

Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana will miss the third T20I against Zimbabwe on July 19 after sustaining a side strain during the second match of the series. The 23-year-old pace sensation, who delivered a career-best performance (4-26) in the series opener, left the field after bowling 2.3 overs in the second game, finishing with 1-15. A national selection panel member confirmed to Cricbuzz that Rana will require at least two to three weeks of recovery, putting his participation in the Test series against Australia in serious doubt.

The injury occurred during Bangladesh's second T20I against Zimbabwe, and the team is awaiting scan results to determine the severity. "We are waiting for the scan report while we keep our fingers crossed, as we still have some time before the first Test against Australia," said a selector. The Test series is scheduled to begin in Darwin on August 13, followed by a second Test in Mackay starting August 22.

With Rana emerging as a key figure in Bangladesh's pace attack, his absence would be a significant blow. National Test captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and selectors met to discuss preparations for the Australia series, with Rana's availability for the Tests becoming a primary topic of discussion.
