Dino Beganovic seals back-to-back F2 wins in Baku Sprint
Beganovic controls Baku Sprint after early charge
Dino Beganovic claimed his second victory of the 2026 FIA Formula 2 season by winning the Baku Sprint Race for DAMS Lucas Oil. The Swede started third but moved into second at the opening corner before passing Laurens van Hoepen on the first lap.

Beganovic then pressured championship leader Nikola Tsolov before using DRS to take the lead. Once ahead, he built enough of a gap to remove the immediate DRS threat and held his nerve through a final-lap Safety Car restart.
Van Hoepen finished second after taking advantage of a mistake by Tsolov at Turn 16. The error triggered a drop down the order for the Campos Racing driver, who eventually crossed the line fifth.
Alexander Dunne completed the podium after a determined drive from 10th on the grid. The result delivered valuable points to the Irishman’s title campaign, although he remains 35 points off the championship lead. Dunne will start the Friday Feature Race from pole position and Saturday’s race from second.
Camara and Mini miss out
Championship runner-up Rafael Camara endured a difficult race after making contact with PREMA Racing’s Mari Boya on the opening lap. A 10-second penalty followed, leaving Camara outside the points.
Gabriele Mini also failed to score and remains third in the Drivers’ Standings ahead of Feature Race 1 in Baku.
