Gabriel Jesus backs Raphinha to deliver Barcelona’s sixth Champions League

Jesus tips Raphinha for a defining Champions League moment

Gabriel Jesus has backed Barcelona captain Raphinha to score the decisive goal in the club’s pursuit of a sixth Champions League crown, praising his teammate’s form and growing influence.

“I think Raphinha deserves the goal that gives us our sixth Champions League title. He’s scoring constantly. He’s incredible, constantly improving, and I hope he keeps it up because he also improves the team,” Jesus said in comments to Barcelona’s media.

Raphinha has taken on a central role in Barcelona’s attack and made a strong start to the campaign. Jesus, who joined the club from Arsenal over the summer, has watched his fellow Brazilian’s performances at close quarters.

Jesus also pays tribute to Barcelona’s Brazilian greats

Asked about the Brazilian players who inspired him, Jesus singled out Ronaldinho and Ronaldo Nazario. He described Ronaldinho as a club legend whose football “brought joy to the pitch,” and said both players rank among Barcelona’s greatest Brazilian figures.

Jesus could provide cover for Raphinha, who may be rested for Barcelona’s upcoming match against Getafe after sustaining a minor injury while on international duty, according to the reports.
