While Nashville and Orlando grabbed the headlines, there was no shortage of drama across the rest of MLS this weekend.

Vancouver Whitecaps Statement Win

The Vancouver Whitecaps were big winners this weekend, dismantling FC Dallas 5-0. Even after losing Sebastian Berhalter, the Whitecaps have emerged as one of the favorites — if not the favorite — to come out of the Western Conference this year. The margin of victory sent a clear message to the rest of the league.

St. Louis City Keep Rolling

St. Louis City extended their unbeaten run to 12 games with a 2-1 win over the Houston Dynamo, who had also been among the hottest teams in the league. The victory further cemented St. Louis's status as a force to be reckoned with in the West.

Toronto Stun Inter Miami

Toronto FC traveled to South Florida and pulled off a stunning 2-1 upset over Inter Miami. Lionel Messi started the match and $15 million man German Berterame returned from injury, but it wasn't enough to prevent Miami from falling to Toronto in a result that will raise further questions about the Herons' ability to keep pace with Nashville at the top of the East.

Toddler on the Pitch

Minnesota United's 5-1 demolition of San Jose was briefly interrupted by a pitch invader of the youngest possible variety. A toddler wandered onto the field, causing a short stoppage in play. Thankfully, the child was far from the action, and with the interruption coming in stoppage time of a 5-1 game, no one was too upset — not even Minnesota head coach Cam Knowles.

"It's a little bit too early to get a lifetime ban from a stadium," Knowles joked.
