Oscar Piastri has expressed confidence that Mercedes39; current dominance in the 2026 Formula 1 season can be challenged, despite the Silver Arrows winning all three Grands Prix so far. A Glimmer of Hope for McLaren

McLaren began the season with reliability concerns, failing to start both cars in China due to electrical issues. Their pace also lagged behind Mercedes, with Piastri qualifying over eight tenths behind Russell in Australia. However, progress has been evident: the gap narrowed to under half a second in China and less than four tenths in Japan.
