Barcelona decide to part ways with Héctor Fort before transfer deadline

Barcelona's hierarchy have made a definitive call on the future of defender Héctor Fort: the 20-year-old will leave the club before the summer transfer window is out.

According to reports out of Spain, the full-back is not part of Hansi Flick and his coaching staff's plans for the season ahead, ruling out any chance of the youngster being handed a fresh opportunity to prove himself at his parent club in 2026/27.

Fort is fresh off a temporary spell away from Catalunya's capital, having spent last season on loan at Barcelona's La Liga rivals Elche. His time in Alicante, however, was heavily impacted by injury, restricting the versatile full-back to just 17 appearances in total.

Despite the lack of minutes, Fort continued to showcase his unquestionable talents, particularly in the attacking third, directly contributing to five goals in Elche colours during his spell.

It had previously been suggested that such form could earn him another chance in the Blaugrana first-team picture, but the latest word from the Spanish media indicates otherwise. As per a report from Jijantes:

'Héctor Fort will leave in this transfer market. With several proposals on the table, club and player are studying the best loan for the culé full-back.'

With several proposals now on the table, both Barcelona and the player will look to secure the most suitable loan destination as the transfer deadline approaches.
