Test Match Special podcast goes behind the scenes at PCA Awards

Behind the scenes at the PCA Awards

A new Test Match Special podcast episode takes listeners inside the Professional Cricketers’ Association end-of-season celebration held in West London.

Presented by Stephan Shemilt, the show speaks to the winners and special guests from the evening. Somerset provided the night’s headline names, with Craig Overton and Sophie Luff featuring after taking home the main prizes.

The podcast also chats with young player of the year Sonny Baker, plus two other bowlers looking to establish themselves in the full England side, Sam Cook and Henry Crocombe.

Women’s cricket is well represented. England spinner Charlie Dean joins the programme after finding herself leading the team for much of a hugely significant summer for the women’s side, while Kate Cross is on to discuss being honoured at the awards for her contribution to the game.

Blaze treble winners Kirstie Gordon and Georgia Elwiss feature, alongside Oliver Hannon-Dalby, who was part of the County Championship-winning Warwickshire side and is also PCA President.

The episode is available now on BBC Sounds as part of the Test Match Special podcast series.
