Stefano Pioli: 'I'm Thirsty for Revenge' as He Eyes Return to Management

'I Still Have a Lot to Give'

Stefano Pioli has declared himself hungry for a return to the dugout, telling Corriere dello Sport in an exclusive interview that he is "thirsty for revenge" and ready to prove himself again.

"I'm thirsty for revenge," Pioli said. "I was the one who made mistakes in Florence; I still have a lot to give."

The coach, who has just turned 61, insisted he still feels young and is eager to redeem himself — ideally in Italy.

"I feel young; I want to redeem myself, possibly in Italy," he said. "The Scudetto with Milan was the peak."

Reflecting on a Star-Studded Milan

Pioli looked back on the talent he worked with during his trophy-winning spell, pointing to the quality that made success possible.

"With people like Cristiano, Ibra, Klose and Giroud, it's easier to win," he said. "Football has changed a lot."

He also revealed his admiration for Cesc Fabregas, explaining that he has come to understand why the Spaniard will go on to have a great career.

"I've understood one thing about Fabregas and why he'll have a great career," Pioli added.

With his future still open, Pioli's comments will fuel speculation about his next destination, particularly should a role become available in Serie A.
