Anukul Roy Joins India A Squad for Sri Lanka Tri-Series as Harsh Dubey Earns Senior Call-up
BCCI Announces Squad Update for India A
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced that all-rounder Anukul Roy has been added to the India A squad for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka. This move comes as a result of Harsh Dubey receiving his maiden call-up to the senior India squad for the home series against Afghanistan.
In a statement released on Thursday, the BCCI confirmed: “The Men’s Selection Committee has added Anukul Roy to the India A squad for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka. He replaces Harsh Dubey, who has received his maiden call-up to India’s Test and ODI squads for the upcoming home series against Afghanistan.”
The Road to Sri Lanka
The tri-series, which will feature India A, Sri Lanka A, and Afghanistan A, is scheduled to take place in Dambulla from June 9 to June 21, 2026. Anukul Roy, a Jharkhand and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder, arrives in the squad following a steady performance in IPL 2026. Roy featured in 13 matches, claiming eight wickets and contributing a notable unbeaten 29 against the Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens.
Harsh Dubey's Rise to Seniority
Harsh Dubey's promotion marks a significant milestone in his career. The left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket and previous India A assignments. He is among three uncapped players selected for the Afghanistan series, alongside Punjab pacer Gurnoor Brar and left-arm spinner Manav Suthar.
India's squad for the one-off Test against Afghanistan (June 6-10 in New Chandigarh) will be led by captain Shubman Gill, with KL Rahul serving as vice-captain in place of Rishabh Pant.
