Mohammad Rizwan loses Lahore High Court plea as Pakistan dressing-room leak probe deepens
Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has lost his plea in the Lahore High Court in his escalating battle with the country's cyber crime agency over the seizure of his mobile phone.
Rizwan had moved the Lahore High Court against a summons issued by the cyber crime agency, deepening a crisis that has engulfed Pakistan cricket. The PCB is now set to take action against Pakistan cricketers as the investigation rolls on.
Rizwan has also taken his grievance to the sport's governing body, approaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit over the mobile phone seizure. So far, no significant evidence has been recovered from the phones of Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq, but the dressing-room leaks investigation remains ongoing.
The turmoil comes with Pakistan cricket at a low ebb on the field as well. The side returned home from a 3-0 whitewash at the hands of England — where Razaullah was greeted with a hero's reception on the team's return — and Babar Azam is now set to play his first domestic first-class game in seven years after the England setback.
