Jos Buttler becomes first cricketer to 15,000 T20 runs and breaks Rohit Sharma's T20I record
Jos Buttler has claimed his place at the summit of T20 batting. The England star dethroned Kieron Pollard to become the No. 1 run-scorer in T20 cricket and, in the process, became the first cricketer in history to reach 15,000 T20 runs.
Buttler did not stop at overall T20 cricket. He also broke a Rohit Sharma record to climb to second on the all-time list of T20I run-scorers.
Buttler was not the only England batter rewriting the record books. Harry Brook scripted history of his own, becoming the first cricketer to achieve the feat in T20Is.
Ben Stokes weighed in on Brook's rise with a bold comparison to England great Kevin Pietersen, declaring that 'even KP couldn't come close'.
The glut of runs also reshuffled the individual ICC T20I rankings, where India's Abhishek Sharma leapt past Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan, while Jasprit Bumrah broke into the top 10.
