BCCI to decide Ajit Agarkar's future after AGM authorisation as Parthiv Patel emerges as chief selector frontrunner

The BCCI is in no rush to resolve the question of Ajit Agarkar's future as chairman of the men's selection committee, with the board's thinking captured in one line: 'Fifteen days is a long time.'

Board vice-president Rajeev Shukla confirmed that a decision on Agarkar's future will be taken after authorisation from the AGM, effectively parking the call until the board's annual general meeting clears the way.

Should Agarkar and the BCCI fail to agree on an extension, former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel has emerged as the frontrunner to succeed him as chief selector.
