Raphinha sends heartfelt message to sidelined Roony Bardghji in Camp Nou captain's speech
Raphinha leads from the front with touching tribute to stricken teammate
Barcelona winger Raphinha was handed the captain's armband for Wednesday evening's Joan Gamper Trophy clash against Egyptian side Al Ahly, and he used the platform to deliver a touching message to injured teammate Roony Bardghji.

Manager Hansi Flick had named the Brazilian international as the Blaugrana's interim skipper for the annual fixture, and as is traditional ahead of kick-off at a packed Camp Nou, Raphinha took hold of the microphone to speak directly to the supporters in attendance.
The Swede Bardghji, 20, was recently ruled out for what is expected to be the entirety of the season with a serious knee injury. Opening his speech with a special mention for the young attacker, Raphinha assured the teenager that he and the rest of the squad would stand by him throughout his recovery.
"I would like first of all to wish a speedy recovery to Roony, who is going through a difficult time in his life and career. He needs our support, he's a spectacular kid, an incredible player. For everything you need, all of us will be available to help you. He is one of us and we always have to take care of ours," Raphinha said.

Skipper congratulates champions and welcomes new faces
After reserving the opening of his address for Bardghji, Raphinha went on to celebrate several of his team-mates who returned as world champions, before extending a welcome to Barcelona's new signings.
"I'd like to congratulate the world champions. They've done a spectacular job, just what we all hope for. They should be proud; they'll always be part of football history. Congratulations to everyone," he added.
The Brazilian also used the moment to make his commitment to the club abundantly clear, ending a summer of speculation about a potential exit with a firm declaration of loyalty to the badge.
"I'd like to welcome the new players. I want to tell them that wearing this shirt and carrying this badge is a huge responsibility, but it's one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had. I'm sure it will be the same for them. We'll be available to help them with whatever they need, so they feel at home.
We continue to grow as a team, we will continue to fight as a team. We will need everyone's support. We, the players and coaching staff, will do everything possible to bring joy this season. Only together can we fight for all the titles. Visca el Barça and visca Catalunya, always."
It was a classy, unifying gesture from a player embracing the captain's role — and a public show of backing for a team-mate facing a long road back to fitness.
