Simone Inzaghi emerges as Juventus candidate to replace Spalletti

Inzaghi named among Juventus successors as Spalletti feels the heat

Simone Inzaghi has emerged as one of Juventus' leading candidates to take over from Luciano Spalletti, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The former Inter and Lazio coach, currently in charge of Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, is being considered by the Bianconeri for a potential change in the dugout in the 2026-27 season.

Pressure mounting on Spalletti

Spalletti is already under pressure after a slow start to the campaign. Juventus have collected just 11 points from their opening seven Serie A matches, recording three wins, two draws and two defeats. The Tuscan tactician remains under contract at the Allianz Stadium until 2028.

Multiple sources claim that club directors and ownership are unwilling to replace Spalletti mid-season. However, that stance would inevitably change if results fail to improve over the coming months, prompting the Bianconeri to consider a caretaker appointment, with Stefano Pioli and Antonio Conte named as potential mid-season replacements.

Long-term vision at the Allianz Stadium

Should Spalletti fail to meet the minimum target of Champions League qualification by the end of the season, Juventus would pursue a different profile of coach. According to Gazzetta, Inzaghi is held in high regard for his top-flight experience, his ability to develop players, and his understanding of the club's needs.

Inzaghi guided Inter to the Serie A title in the 2023-24 season, won the Coppa Italia twice and the Supercoppa Italiana three times during his spell in Milan, and reached the Champions League Final in both 2023 and 2025.
