Northamptonshire extend Raphy Weatherall's contract to 2028
Northamptonshire fast bowler Raphy Weatherall has signed a contract extension that will keep him with the county until at least the end of the 2028 season.

The 21-year-old, who graduated from a law degree at Exeter University in June, has featured in 29 games over the past three seasons across all formats, claiming 41 wickets. His playing time has been fragmented by injury, but he returned to feature in this season's One-Day Cup, taking 4-56 against Warwickshire in July.
Weatherall said: "At a personal level I have worked meticulously on my fitness and strength and I'm delighted to have remained injury free throughout the season," he told the club's website.
"The new contract enables me to build on this progress and a full-time commitment with the club can only bring greater opportunity and I am really looking forward to working with the team in the coming seasons."
A one-year extension
The deal is a one-year extension to the three-year contract Weatherall, a former England Under-19 international, signed in 2024, the year in which he made his debut for the county.
Lehmann backs young talent
Head coach Darren Lehmann said: "Raphy is a very exciting young talent who has a very high ceiling. He's obviously had some pretty big injuries which we'll continue to manage but we're all looking forward for what's to come from him."
