Lazio stay top as Taylor and Diego Carlos own goal sink Parma
Lazio make their dominance count after the break
Lazio stayed at the top of Serie A with a 2-1 victory over Parma, extending their strong start as the visitors suffered a third consecutive defeat. Kenneth Taylor scored and Diego Carlos turned the ball into his own net before Simone Lontani’s stoppage-time goal gave Parma a late consolation — and their first goal since Alberto Gilardino took charge.

Parma threatened on the counter in the opening period, with David Romero forcing Christos Mandas into an early save and Mandas later keeping out a header from El-Bilal Toure. Lazio’s Gustav Isaksen came close to breaking the deadlock when his header from Mattia Zaccagni’s cross struck the crossbar. Isaksen appeared to put the hosts ahead before the interval, but the effort was ruled out for offside.
Taylor and an own goal put Lazio in control
The breakthrough arrived five minutes into the second half. Reda Belahyane’s pass took a deflection off Diego Carlos, but Taylor gathered the loose ball and curled a left-footed shot into the far corner from the edge of the area.
Lazio doubled their advantage eight minutes later. Parma lost possession while trying to play out from the back, and Nuno Tavares sent a volleyed cross into the area. Diego Carlos, attempting to prevent Tijjani Noslin from finishing, diverted the ball into his own net. Parma goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi was accidentally struck during the scramble and needed attention for a cut.
Lazio created further chances to extend the lead, but Parma held on until the closing moments. Lontani first sent a late effort narrowly wide, then scored in the 95th minute when his cross from the left appeared to catch Mandas out and bounced in off the far post. Goal-line technology confirmed the ball had crossed the line.
The late goal could not change the result: Lazio took the points with a 2-1 win, while Parma’s losing run continued.
