Hearts hammer St Mirren 5-0 for biggest Tynecastle league win in three-and-a-half years

Hearts eased to their biggest home win in the league for three-and-a-half years as they dismantled St Mirren 5-0 at Tynecastle to remain firmly on the coat-tails of Rangers and Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

The third-placed Jambos dominated from the start and Laurent Mendy fired them ahead in the 20th minute. Calvin Miller then converted two penalties, either side of half-time, before further goals from Claudio Braga and Josh McPake ensured a smooth afternoon for the hosts.

It was Hearts' biggest league win at Tynecastle since they defeated Ross County 6-1 under Steven Naismith in April 2023, and the result leaves them comfortably the top scorers in the division.

Hearts will now switch their focus to Europe, with their Conference League opener at home to Nordsjaelland to come on Thursday.
