Barcelona Atletic beat Logroñés 1-0 as Ebrima Tunkara returns from injury with 90th-minute assist
Tunkara instant impact seals top-of-table win at Estadi Johan Cruyff
Barcelona Atletic stayed top of the table after six games on Saturday with a 1-0 home victory over SD Logroñés, and 16-year-old Ebrima Tunkara made an immediate impact on his return from an ankle injury.
Juliano Belletti named a strong side at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, handing summer signing Jesse Bisiwu his first appearance for Barca Atletic. The hosts started slowly but grew into the contest, with Aziz Issah and Guillem Víctor going close towards the end of the first half.
Changes at the break lifted the tempo. Shane Kluivert arrived at half-time for Bisiwu, while Álex González was also introduced as Barcelona tried to ramp things up. Belletti further turned to his bench in the second half with Josué Caicedo and Tunkara coming on.
The substitution proved decisive. Tunkara, 16, produced an assist for Juan Ybarra to net the only goal of the game in the 90th minute. Tunkara sent in a great cross for Ybarra to touch home and seal another win for Barcelona Atletic.
The victory leaves Barca Atletic undefeated after six games and still top of the table, continuing what has been a fine start to the campaign for Belletti’s side.
