Hibs cast wider net in search for new manager

Hibernian are assessing a number of candidates as they continue their search for a new manager, with former Arminia Bielefeld boss Michel Kniat and Inter Turku head coach Vesa Vasara among the names under consideration.

Marink Reedijk, the former Beveren head coach, is also reportedly keen on the vacancy. The emerging shortlist reflects Hibs’ search across several European markets as the club weighs its next appointment.

New head coach Sebastien Pocognoli has said that “the bar is very high” because of Scotland’s “heritage”, underlining the expectations surrounding the role and Scottish football.
