Freddie Slater has continued his remarkable form in FIA Formula 3, claiming his second consecutive pole position at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. The British driver, who represents Trident and is an Audi Development Driver, mastered the challenging wet conditions to secure top spot with a time of 2m 05.150s.

Just one week after clinching his first pole position of the season on home soil at Silverstone, Slater demonstrated remarkable consistency to repeat the feat in Belgium. Notably, his fastest lap came on his first attempt, as the qualifying session was heavily impacted by rain that gradually increased throughout the afternoon.

"Everyone was eager to get a time on the board early, but the Trident driver made his first lap count, going to the top of the times and staying there until the end," according to Formula 1's official report.

Finishing in second place was Tuukka Taponen from MP Motorsport and the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, achieving his best qualifying result of the season. Hiyu Yamakoshi completed the top three for Van Amersfoort Racing, though the Japanese driver was involved in a session-ending Red Flag incident.

The closing minutes of qualifying proved particularly dramatic. With just under 10 minutes remaining and with the rain threatening to increase to its heaviest level, drivers fought fiercely over track position approaching Turn 14. This led to contact between Noah Stromsted and Yevan David, which subsequently resulted in Yamakoshi and PREMA Racing's Jose Garfias suffering contact in the process.

Fortunately, all drivers were OK, but the session was not resumed, confirming Slater in P1 once again.

This result marks a significant milestone in Slater's sophomore F3 season, establishing him as a genuine championship contender with back-to-back pole positions.
