Barcelona sign 16-year-old Portuguese talent Dany Freire for La Masia
Barcelona have completed the signing of 16-year-old midfielder Dany Freire, adding another promising talent to the club’s academy ranks.

Freire earns Barcelona contract after trial
Freire is an attack-minded midfielder who can operate in several positions in the final third. He is also a Portugal youth international and has developed in recent seasons with Luxembourg-based CS Fola.
The teenager, who also holds Luxembourgish citizenship, attracted the attention of Barcelona’s recruitment staff and was invited to train on trial in Catalonia. His performances were enough to convince the club to offer him a contract with La Masia.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move, writing: “Barcelona sign 16-year-old talent Dany Freire, deal agreed and here we go! Portuguese attacking midfielder passed the trial and signs his Barcelona contract today.”
Freire will now continue his development within Barcelona’s academy setup as the club looks to nurture another young attacking midfielder.
