PSG punish Barcelona late as Doué inspires 4-2 Champions League win
21 October 2026
Paris Saint-Germain struck twice in the closing stages to claim a 4-2 Champions League victory over Barcelona at the Parc des Princes, ending the visitors’ five-match winning run in all competitions.
Désiré Doué was central to the hosts’ attack, opening the scoring in the 38th minute after João Neves picked him out. Barcelona responded 10 minutes into the second half, when Fermín López set up Xavi Espart for the equaliser.
Doué then supplied the pass for Lucas Hernández to put PSG back in front in the 72nd minute. Barcelona levelled again seven minutes later through Lamine Yamal, but the tie swung decisively in the home side’s favour almost immediately: Vitinha restored PSG’s lead in the 81st minute, and Fabián Ruiz completed the scoring five minutes later from an Achraf Hakimi assist.

PSG make their chances count
Barcelona twice fought back to parity, but PSG created the clearer opportunities. The hosts registered 14 shots on target to Barcelona’s five, and Joan García made 10 saves. PSG also led the expected-goals count, 3.74 to 2.25, despite having 47% of possession.
Doué departed in the 78th minute after taking four shots and creating four key chances. He was rated the best player on the pitch in the match report. Ruiz, who attempted five shots, was also among PSG’s standout performers.
Both teams turn to domestic fixtures
The result extended PSG’s winning streak to six matches in all competitions, while Barcelona’s run of five consecutive victories came to an end. Barcelona next host Real Madrid in La Liga on Sunday, 25 October; PSG are due to welcome Lyon in Ligue 1 on the same day.
