Pietersen makes shock England comeback as white-ball mentor; Root climbs all-time caps list

A shock return

Kevin Pietersen is making a shock comeback to the England set-up, named as white-ball mentor after agreeing to “put on the England uniform again.”

The move has divided opinion, but Joe Root — England's premier Test batter — is firmly in favour, weighing in on how “it's really going to benefit us.”

Root closing in on the greats

Root's own stock keeps rising. He has surpassed Steve Waugh and moved closer to Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson on the all-time list for most Test appearances, adding another milestone to a remarkable career.
