Rising Star Ready for New Deal

Inter striker Francesco Pio Esposito is poised to be rewarded for a stellar breakout campaign with a new long-term contract at the San Siro. After impressing throughout the 2025-26 season, the 21-year-old is confident that his extension will be finalized without complication.

Esposito, a product of the Inter academy, returned to the club after two loan spells at Spezia between 2023 and 2025. He quickly established himself as a vital part of the squad, making 50 appearances across all competitions and scoring 11 goals to help Inter clinch both the Serie A and Coppa Italia titles.

Calm Amidst Negotiations

Reports from Italian media indicate that an agreement has been in place since July, with the new contract expected to tie the forward to the club until June 2031. Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Esposito expressed his contentment with his current situation.

"Last year we exceeded expectations," Esposito stated. "I came from Serie B, and I'm happy with how my first season at Inter went. I'm very calm [about the renewal], I'm happy here at Inter, it's something that my agent will speak about with the club without any issues."

The striker finished the season as Inter's fourth-highest scorer across all competitions, including the Club World Cup, while also providing six assists.

International Ambitions

His domestic form has not gone unnoticed by the national team selectors. Esposito has already earned his first call-up to the Italian national team, netting five goals in nine appearances for the Azzurri.

Despite his early success on the international stage, Esposito remains focused on his club development: "The objective is to never settle, to not stop and to always try to improve both in terms of statistics and as a footballer in general. I want to show what I have at club level first, and then I hope to have the opportunity to prove myself in the national team because I care a lot about the Azzurri shirt."
