Dunkley's Masterclass Seals Rockets' Fourth Win

Sophia Dunkley continued her exceptional form in the Women's Hundred, smashing a sparkling half-century to power Trent Rockets to their fourth successive victory. The tournament's leading run-scorer hammered 65 off just 37 balls, including seven fours and two sixes, as Rockets chased down Birmingham Phoenix's total of 122 with 16 balls to spare.

Phoenix Struggle to Post Competitive Total

Birmingham Phoenix endured a shoddy batting display earlier in the evening. While Davina Perrin got off to a brisk start and Tammy Beaumont looked in decent touch, both failed to kick on and post a substantial score. The middle order collapsed when Alice Capsey and skipper Ellyse Perry contributed just two runs between them.

Anneric Dercksen and Emma Lamb revived the innings with a crucial stand, with Lamb top-scoring with 45 runs. However, Dercksen's departure at a critical juncture prevented Phoenix from targeting over 130. Kim Garth went on a hunting spree at the death, finishing with figures of 4-23 as Phoenix ended up with 122/7 in their 100 balls - a total that was never going to be safe.

Rockets Chase Down Target Comfortably

In pursuit of 123, Dunkley saw Beth Mooney depart for an uncharacteristic 14-ball 7, but that didn't deter her from taking down the Phoenix bowling attack. With Nat Sciver-Brunt also batting in positive fashion, scoring 24 runs, victory appeared to be a foregone conclusion for Rockets.

There was a small hiccup when Sciver-Brunt and Ashleigh Gardner departed off successive deliveries, but Dunkley continued to make merry and ended up finishing the job with her teammates with 16 balls to spare. Rockets reached 124/4 in just 84 balls.
