Eight wins, 36 goals, no defeats: Has Flick's Barcelona really got no flaws?

Blistering start raises an awkward question for Catalan fans

Barcelona have been in eye-catching form at the start of the season and have swept all before them so far, both in La Liga and the Champions League. Eight straight victories have been delivered, a total of 36 goals scored and just eight conceded for Hansi Flick's side so far, an opening to the 2026-27 campaign that could hardly have gone any better.

There's certainly a lot to feel good about right now, with La Liga paused due to the international break. Yet with the pause in domestic action comes the traditional moment of reflection, and the question Barca Blaugranes has put to its readers is a deceptively simple one: is everything absolutely perfect at Barcelona?

The record so far

The numbers behind the run are remarkable. A perfect 8-0 record across all competitions, 36 goals for and only eight against, puts Flick's side among the most feared attacking units in Europe. The Catalans have fought on all fronts at once, mixing ruthless domestic form with a confident start in the Champions League.

But beneath the surface, the blog's editors are keen to probe whether any weaknesses in the squad still need addressing as Barca aim to maintain the momentum into the rest of the campaign.

“Does anything worry you about Hansi Flick’s Barcelona after a perfect start to the 2026-27 season?”

It is the Barca Blaugranes Question of the Day, and supporters are being invited to share their thoughts, opinions and answers in the comments section below. Are there still things the Catalans could do better? Is the squad a little thin in any area? Or is this simply a side firing on all cylinders?

Whatever the answer, one thing is beyond debate: Barcelona's perfect start to the season has made them the team to beat, and the international break offers the perfect window to assess whether the gloss is as durable as it looks.
