BARCELONA — Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has named the three young stars of La Masia who have impressed him most during the club's preseason, with a teenager and two emerging first-team hopefuls earning plaudits from the German tactician.

Speaking to the press after Barcelona's final training session in England, Flick was asked which breakthrough talents have caught his eye so far this summer. "Three youngsters who have surprised me the most so far? Ebrima Tunkara, Xavi Espart and Orian Goren have really impressed me during this training camp. They have tremendous quality and are proving it every day," Flick explained.

Elaborating on each youngster, Flick said: "Ebrima Tunkara is a great talent, as is Orian Goren. And Xavi Espart played very well as a number two (right-back) in the match against Birmingham. Both in the game and in training he has made it clear that he is a top-level player."

The three names standing out

Ebrima Tunkara (16) — One of the most exciting attacking prospects La Masia has produced in recent seasons, capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or false nine.

Orian Goren (17) — A talented midfielder who showcased notable composure in possession against Birmingham, delivering simple but effective passes to keep attacks flowing and showing intelligent positioning in and out of possession.

Xavi Espart (19) — A versatile full-back who appeared in patches at senior level last season and who is widely expected to take on a more prominent role in the first team during the 2026/27 campaign.

La Masia continues to be a foundational pillar of the Catalan club, and with a coach willing to trust young players who prove themselves, Barcelona's youth pipeline remains as vital as ever.
