West Indies stun India in Ranchi to level T20I series with 250 chase

Hope and Rutherford sink India in run-fest

West Indies pulled off a stunning run-chase in Ranchi, beating India by six wickets after overhauling a mammoth target of 250 to level the five-match T20I series 1-1.

Shai Hope anchored the chase with an unbeaten 102 off just 45 balls, while Sherfane Rutherford bludgeoned 84 off 37 deliveries. The pair put together a match-winning 120-run partnership to condemn the hosts.

Samson's blitz not enough

India had earlier posted a formidable 249-5, powered by Sanju Samson's 82 off 41 balls, but the total proved insufficient against the West Indies onslaught.

What's next

The teams meet again in the third T20I in Indore on Sunday, before India embark on an extensive all-format tour of New Zealand.
