Tayla Vlaeminck Ruled Out of WBBL Season Due to Persistent Shoulder Injury

Australian fast bowler Tayla Vlaeminck has been ruled out of the upcoming Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) season due to a persistent shoulder injury. The 26-year-old, who has been sidelined since last year's T20 World Cup, expressed disappointment over her continued absence.

Vlaeminck's goal was to return in the WBBL, but ongoing problems with her shoulder have prevented her from increasing her workload. She candidly shared her feelings: "I'm obviously a little bit shattered about missing out... my shoulder's just not loving bowling at the moment."

Her injury history includes shoulder dislocations and stress fractures, adding to the complexity of her recovery. Despite the challenges, Cricket Australia has retained her on central contracts, supporting her through this rough patch. "I just like to consider myself pretty lucky that Cricket Australia have stuck by me throughout this whole thing," she said.

Australian Women's physiotherapist Kate Beerworth confirmed that ongoing physical limitations have impeded progress, but she emphasized continued support through Vlaeminck’s recovery journey.
