Sai Sudharsan and Devdutt Padikkal Dominate

NEW DELHI: Opener Sai Sudharsan continued his stellar form with the bat, scoring his second successive century of the series to put India A in a commanding position on Day 2 of the second unofficial Test against Sri Lanka A. At stumps, India A were 247/1 in reply to Sri Lanka A's 366, trailing by 119 runs with nine wickets still in hand. Sudharsan remained unbeaten on 104, while Devdutt Padikkal was batting on 94.

The pair stitched together an unbroken 181-run stand for the second wicket to put the visitors firmly in control. Sudharsan, who lost opener Aman Mokhade for 38 after the opening pair had added 66 runs, reached his fifty in 85 balls before bringing up his 10th first-class century off 166 deliveries. It was also his second hundred of the series after scoring a century in the drawn first unofficial Test. Devdutt also impressed with the bat, reaching his fifty in 67 balls. His unbeaten 94 was his second successive half-century of the series as he kept the scoreboard moving alongside Sudharsan.

Sri Lanka A's Strong Performance

Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka A captain Sahan Arachchige completed his ninth first-class century. Resuming on 83 overnight, Arachchige reached his hundred in 176 balls and eventually made 127 before Gurnoor Brar dismissed him after the batter had hit the pacer for a six. Brar finished with figures of 4/77, while off-spinner Saransh Jain also claimed four wickets, returning 4/92, as India A bowled out Sri Lanka A for 366.
