Antonelli Leads Mercedes 2026 Rout With Eight Wins as Season Reaches Azerbaijan

Kimi Antonelli has emerged as the dominant force of the 2026 Formula 1 season, taking eight Grand Prix victories as the campaign reaches its closing rounds, according to the official Formula 1 results page.

The Mercedes driver's run began with victory at the Chinese Grand Prix on 15 March, and he has barely let up since. Antonelli went on to win in Japan (29 March), Miami (3 May), Canada (24 May) and Monaco (7 June) to string together a remarkable five wins from five consecutive rounds.

He added further triumphs in Belgium (19 July), Italy (6 September) and Spain (13 September), cementing his status as the man to beat across the season's opening fifteen Grands Prix.

Russell and McLaren Break the Streak

While Antonelli has hogged the headlines, teammate George Russell opened the season with victory in Australia on 8 March and has taken two further wins, in Austria (28 June) and most recently Azerbaijan (26 September).

McLaren's Lando Norris interrupted the Mercedes run in the middle of the season, winning back-to-back races in Hungary (26 July) and the Netherlands (23 August).

Ferrari also had moments to celebrate, with Lewis Hamilton triumphing at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix on 14 June and Charles Leclerc taking the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on 5 July.

The tally of race winners through the season's fifteen listed rounds shows Mercedes dominance: Antonelli's eight wins plus Russell's three give the Silver Arrows eleven victories in total. McLaren's two wins and Ferrari's two complete the season's winners.

With fifteen rounds recorded from Australia in March through Azerbaijan in late September, the 2026 championship battle now moves toward its decisive final phase, with Antonelli clearly leading the charge for Mercedes.
