Barcelona add Nicolò Tresoldi to striker shortlist after Julián Alvarez setback

Barcelona widen centre-forward search

Barcelona have reportedly added Club Brugge striker Nicolò Tresoldi to their shortlist as the La Liga club continues its search for a new centre-forward ahead of the coming season.

According to reports cited by Diario Sport, Tresoldi has emerged as a player closely monitored by Barcelona’s sporting department. The Germany Under-21 international impressed last season, scoring 23 goals and supplying nine assists for Club Brugge.

Alvarez pursuit complicated

Barcelona’s primary focus in the position has been Julián Alvarez, identified as the preferred target by head coach Hansi Flick and his staff. However, Atlético Madrid’s reported refusal to negotiate with a direct domestic rival has forced Barcelona to consider alternatives.

Sport described Tresoldi as the “revelation striker of the Belgian League and top scorer of Brugge last season”. Flick is understood to admire the forward, who is also attracting interest from Premier League clubs.

Club Brugge are reportedly demanding a fee of more than €40 million to approve a summer transfer. Barcelona’s interest therefore remains at the monitoring stage, but Tresoldi’s breakthrough campaign has placed him among the options under consideration as the club broadens its recruitment plans.
