Alexander Prass steers Hoffenheim to 2-1 win over winless Gladbach
Hoffenheim end losing run with hard-fought win at Borussia-Park
Hoffenheim secured a valuable 2-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach in a Matchday 6 Bundesliga clash between two sides struggling for form. The result ends a difficult spell for the visitors, who had won just one of their previous seven matches, while Gladbach remain winless after five league defeats to open the campaign.

Conté opens the scoring
Hoffenheim adapted quicker to the game and struck early. A slick sequence of one-touch passes opened up the Gladbach defence, and Alexander Prass fed Bambasé Conté, who finished into the far bottom corner in the 11th minute. Fisnik Asllani then struck the crossbar with a close-range free-kick before half-time, as the visitors came close to doubling their lead.
Mohya equalises within four minutes of the restart
Gladbach began the second half with far more intent and were level inside four minutes. Florian Neuhaus drove forward and released Wael Mohya, who cut inside his marker and curled a clinical finish into the bottom right corner in the 49th minute. The 17-year-old was one of the hosts' brightest attacking outlets, delivering dangerous balls into the penalty area throughout.
Prass restores the lead
The celebrations were short-lived. Conté and Hložek combined in the 54th minute, and Prass, who started in midfield rather than his usual left-back role, composed himself before finishing coolly with his left foot. It was his first league start since April, and he had a hand in both Hoffenheim goals.
Hložek later struck the post, and Prass tested Moritz Nicolas late on, but the score remained 2-1. Teammate Joe Scally also came close for Gladbach, but his effort flew over the crossbar.
Blessin's first home game ends without points
Gladbach head coach Alexander Blessin urged his side on from the touchline as the hosts chased a result that would have mattered greatly for the team at the foot of the Bundesliga table. Instead, the hosts' search for their first points of the season continues, while Hoffenheim collect three vital points.
