Exciting April Motorsport Lineup on Sky Sports F1: Verstappen and Stroll Gear Up for Action
Formula 1's return to the track in Miami is still weeks away at the start of May, but motorsport fans won't be left wanting for action. Sky Sports F1 has curated a thrilling lineup of live events across various racing categories throughout April, broadcast on both TV and YouTube channels. From GT racing debuts by F1 stars to historic spectacles, here's what's in store for the next three weekends.

Weekend of April 11-12: GT World Challenge Europe and Nurburgring Endurance Series
The month kicks off with the season-opening round of the GT World Challenge Europe at Paul Ricard, France, where Aston Martin F1 driver Lance Stroll makes his GT racing debut. Teaming up with former F1 driver Roberto Merhi and 21-year-old F2 driver Mari Boya, Stroll will pilot an Aston Martin Vantage in a six-hour day-night race involving 60 cars. This opportunity arose during the Japanese GP weekend, and Stroll consulted with fellow F1 driver Max Verstappen, who has recent endurance racing experience.
"[I spoke with Max] briefly in Suzuka when I had the idea," said Stroll. "We talked about who to contact, and since he's already involved in GT racing, we discussed it a bit. Everyone enjoys driving GT3 cars - they're fun."
While Stroll takes to the track, Verstappen's own Verstappen Racing team is also competing, adding to the excitement. Coverage includes support events like GT3, GT4, and Lamborghini series. The schedule for the weekend is as follows:
- Saturday, April 11: 10.15am - NLS 3 on Sky Sports F1 YouTube; 10.50am - GT World Challenge Qualifying; 1.30pm - Lamborghini Trophy Race One; 2.50pm - GT4 European Series Qualifying; 3.40pm - GT3 Revival Qualifying; 4.30pm - GT World Challenge Race
- Sunday, April 12: 8.15am - GT3 Revival Race; 9.45am - GT4 European Series Race; 11.15am - Lamborghini Trophy Race Two
Additionally, the Nurburgring Endurance Series (NLS 3) streams live on Sky Sports F1's YouTube channel Saturday morning.
April 17-19: IndyCar at Long Beach, Goodwood Members' Meeting, and More Nurburgring Action
Mid-month brings round five of the 2026 IndyCar Series from the iconic Long Beach street circuit in California. The season has been fiercely competitive so far, with four different polesitters and three winners in the opening events. Full coverage includes practice, qualifying, warm-up, and the main race.
As anticipation builds for the Nürburgring 24 Hours in May, there's a double-header from the Nurburgring Endurance Series (NLS 4 and 5) streaming on YouTube. Max Verstappen returns to action alongside Lucas Auer—nephew of former Ferrari and McLaren driver Gerhard Berger—in their Red Bull-liveried Mercedes GT3 car.
Historic racing enthusiasts can enjoy the 83rd Goodwood Members' Meeting over two days, featuring 13 races with machinery from across the decades. Highlights include demonstration laps by Jenson Button in his 2009 championship-winning Brawn car and a tribute to James Hunt 50 years after his 1976 title.
Schedule highlights:
- Friday, April 17: 11pm - IndyCar Long Beach Practice One
- Saturday, April 18: 9am - Goodwood Members' Meeting Day One; 10.15am - NLS 4 on YouTube; 6.30pm - IndyCar Practice Two; 11.30pm - IndyCar Qualifying
