Liverpool welcome back Isak and Szoboszlai for Brentford Premier League test

Liverpool have been boosted by the returns of Alexander Isak and Dominik Szoboszlai for the visit to unbeaten Brentford in the Premier League.

The pair missed Liverpool’s games against Manchester City and LASK due to injuries following the international break but have recovered to start in west London.

Isak and Szoboszlai replace Lewis Koumas and Trey Nyonyi from the team that won 6-3 in Austria in midweek, while Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister and Victor Munoz also return.

The suspended Ryan Gravenberch and winger Rio Ngumoha also drop out as Andoni Iraola makes five changes for Liverpool’s return to Premier League action.

Cody Gakpo, meanwhile, also returns to the bench after suffering an injury while on international duty with the Netherlands last month.

Brentford’s top scorer this season Kevin Schade is only fit enough to start on the bench after hurting his shoulder in the 2-2 draw at Aston Villa last week. Former Liverpool centre-back Sepp van den Berg returns from injury to start while goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher will also face his former team.
